I love this game! I am rather surprised I got this one. I think it was the hockey mask/chainsaw wielder that made me think The Blob. I remember the kids were watching something like that in the movie theater. Oh, I remember the scene in the tent now, too. Didn't this have some kind of quasi-religious bent? Were there religious whackos trying to make out that the blob was the second coming or something? I need to check this one out again.
Damn. It was the presence of the maniac in the hockey mask that was supposed to throw people.
Also, it was never made clear if the religious followers in the tent were made aware of the Blob or not. However their Preacher originated from the small town that had just been consumed by it. He had been horribly disfigured in the proceedings and on top of keeping a small portion of the frozen creature in a glass jar (now thawed and hungry), lost his mind somewhere along the way. Yes, the implication was that he was intending to bring about the end of days soon by unleashing his new pet.
Also, might I add. I think this is one of thee best horror remakes ever and certainly one of the best horror films of the 80's. I'm straining to think of a single flaw this film possesses.
That's right! It is definitely one of the best remakes - I was really surprised by how good it was the first time I saw that, I was not expecting that. I will say I almost did not watch it because of Kevin Dillion's hair, but thankfully I got past that.
Ok, I know I'm probably REALLY wrong on this one but I'm going to make a guess. My guess is the remake of The Blob.
ReplyDeleteNope, you are REALLY right. It is. Great job bud, your pretty good at this.

ReplyDeleteKevin Dillion's hair...there are no words. Even for it's day, I thought it was atrocious.
