The October Country Would Like To Wish A...
Happy Birthday to a man who needs no introduction, the master of suspense and horror, Alfred Hitchcock. With more classic films under his belt than perhaps any other director (living or dead), and probably one of the most homaged, ripped off and copied filmmakers in history, Hitchcock directed over fifty feature films in a career spanning six decades. Most notable among them being; Psycho (1960), The Birds (1963), Frenzy (1972), Topaz (1969), North by Northwest (1959), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), Sabotage (1936), The Lady Vanishes (1938), Rebecca (1940), Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Lifeboat (1944), Spellbound (1945), Notorious (1946), Rope (1948) Stage Fright (1950), Strangers on a Train (1951), Dial M for Murder (1954), Rear Window (1954), The Trouble With Harry (1955), Vertigo (1958), Marnie (1964), Torn Curtain (1966) and Family Plot (1976) in addition to television's Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955 - 1961) and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962). Described as the most influential filmmaker of all-time, in addition to being regarded as one of cinema's most important artists, Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was born August 13th, 1899 and passed away April 29th, 1980. He would have been 101 years old today.
