You'd didn't think we were just going to be offering up vintage monster rock this October did you dear readers? I should hope not, because no Halloween season is complete without a bevy of traditional horror movie film scores to fill our dark and chilly nights. Seeing as how there are not a whole helluva lot of films set on the actual holiday, and even less score releases from said films, our film soundtrack output isn't going to match the wealth of monster rock still to come. But we plan to hit all the notable albums that are available. Many you may already possess, some of them are out of print and a few have never seen an official commercial release. At either rate, there is sure to be something here for everyone. So remember boils and ghouls, keep checking back here for all your Halloween music needs.

Tonight's uber-rare offering is the bootleg soundtrack to the Night of the Demons' trilogy. It's more of a soundtrack for the first film than anything else but there are goodies from the 2nd and 3rd thrown in there as well (with a sampling of Witchboard for good measure). Sadly, none of the entries ever saw an official score release in any capacity, which is a real shame because there is on occasion, genuinely great moments here from Dennis Michael Tenney. Not to speak of some truly badass cuts from Bauhaus (Stigmata Martyr), Morbid Angel (Rapture) and Steve King and Tim Wojan's dirty little punk ditty Computer Date ("Far fucking out!") which I dare you to not get stuck in your head and hum all day like I've been doing. My apologies for the fact that much of the score contained herein still has annoying dialogue and sound effects present. Until an official release becomes available (I wouldn't hold your breath) this will have to do for now. Definitely one to grab for the completists out there.
